Birthing

Swans front-man Michael Gira has made the claim that “Birthing”, their 17th studio album, will be the band’s last “big sound” record. If that proves to be the case, what a way to go out. Sprawling, intense, pummeling and, at points, meditative. What more could you want from a Swans record?

Comparisons have been drawn to their greatest work (“Soundtracks For The Blind” and “To Be Kind”) and on tracks like “The Healers” and “I’m A Tower”, it’s really not hard to see why they’re still regarded as one of experimental rock’s greatest ever bands!
