Megadeth is on of the “big four” of American thrash metal, along with Slayer, Anthrax and Metallica. The latter being the band frontman Dave Mustaine was kicked out of in 1983 before starting his own group that was “faster and heavier than Metallica”.
It wasn’t long before Megadeth released platinum selling album after platinum selling album, popularizing the metal genre and gathering a huge following. This is still one of the most popular metal bands in the world, here on their first headlining global tour back in 1987.
