Pirouette

“Pirouette”, the second Model/Actriz album, radiates something. What it is I can’t quite figure out, there’s a disquiet, a drama, a glamour, a tension, a thrill, all combining to create what seeps out. It’s a roller-coaster of an album, the air-tight, oxygen-stealing precision of opening track “Vespers” to the crushing bass and drums of “Ring Road”, while giving a beautiful moment of respite in the form of “Headlights.” It’s not for the faint of heart but it’s definitely worth the ride!
