Slipstream is the debut 12” single from four-time grammy nominated production and writing duo, dim star, out August 29, 2025, featuring billy woods and Anaïs Mitchell.
dim star emerged in 2023 after co-writing and producing Allison Russell’s Grammy-winning The Returner. On their self-produced first release, they lean into mystery and melancholy, blending synths, drum machines, and ghostly harmonies in a dreamlike mosaic for the eclectic pairing of the acclaimed emcee (woods) and the alt-folk queen (Mitchell).
dim star’s sonic collage and fragmented poetry - which feel like half recovered memories and lines from lost songs - collapses genre and creates a sound entirely their own. Their full length debut is expected sometime in 2026.
